What is SLS 3D Printing?
Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) is a powerful additive manufacturing technology that produces highly accurate and durable parts. SLS can build multiple parts simultaneously without the need for support structures, significantly optimizing production efficiency.
Our SLS printing primarily uses nylon, known for its versatility and strength. We offer various infill options to enhance material properties, such as stiffness with carbon-fill or flame retardancy.
How Does SLS Work?
SLS is a precise layer-by-layer additive manufacturing process:
Preparation: A high-power laser, such as a carbon dioxide laser, is used.
Layering: The laser fuses small plastic powder particles into a solid mass, following a 3D digital model (e.g., from a CAD file or scan data).
Fusing: The laser selectively fuses the powder by scanning cross-sections on the surface of a powder bed.
Building: After each layer is scanned and fused, the powder bed lowers by one layer thickness, and a new layer of material is applied.
Repetition: This process repeats layer by layer until the part is fully formed.
